This is one of the 50 kW short wave transmitters used to broadcast RTL’s DRM signal on 6095 kHz (49 metre band).

HF Telefunken S2500/1 transmitter.

Photo of the dual 49 metre dipole aerial used to broadcast DRM. Using two dipoles gives omni-directional coverage. Currently RTL are broadcasting a different service on 5990 kHz and 6095 kHz simultaneously - 18 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Both transmitters have recently undergone a major overhaul (they are 35 years old), this also includes the installation of new remote monitoring equipment to allow for unmanned operation. The transmitters are controlled from the Beidweiler long wave transmitter site via a LAN.
RTL are currently broadcasting DRM on 25.795 MHz from Junglinster. The vertical broadcast antenna is mounted on the roof of the transmitter building at approx. 25 m above ground. Transmitter power is between 150W and 200W DRM.
