DRMradio
SDC
The SDC contains information about the services available and how to decode the MSC. SDC is transmitted at the beginning of each ‘super-frame’ every 1.2 seconds. Primarily intended to give the listener information about the tuned DRM radio station, similar in operation to VHF-RDS. Includes the radio station name (up to 16 characters), alternate frequency and schedule information, target coverage area, time and date.
The SDC uses either 16-QAM or 4-QAM mapping. 16-QAM provides greater capacity whereas 4-QAM provides a more robust error performance. SDC is transmitted with a fixed code rate.
